In comparison with the previous second generation of the crossover, the novelty received cardinal changes in its appearance, a more stylish and modern interior, as well as a completely new technical filling. In addition, the new Chevrolet Equinox has become noticeably smaller and lighter than its predecessor, which allows you to count on more impressive dynamic and economic characteristics of the crossover.

The first thing that catches your eye when looking at the new Chevrolet Equinox is the front end of the body, which has received a number of cardinal changes in comparison with the previous generation of the crossover, so that from now on the car is made in the same style in the latest generations of Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Malibu.
"Muzzle" of the car received a more advanced and stylish optics of the head light, a different shape of the hood, just a huge two-section radiator grille and a muscular front bumper with an impressive air intake and original designed front fog lights.

The salon of the new Chevrolet Equinox meets with a completely new architecture of the front dashboard, most of the elements of which were borrowed from the Chevrolet Malibu sedan.
Driver's seat received a new, more stylish and modern three-spoke steering wheel, as well as a completely redesigned dashboard, represented by several analog indicators and an LCD display of the trip computer.
In the central part of the dashboard, the manufacturer placed the MyLink multimedia center, which supports synchronization with smartphones based on iOS and Android, and also received a touchscreen display with a diagonal of 7 or 8 ".
Right below the multimedia system, there is a stylish and intuitive climate control panel that even a child can easily handle.
Special attention should be paid to the combined trim of the front console, which in top-end equipment ideally combines natural leather, soft plastics and stylish chrome elements with a deflector of the air ducts.
Front seats provide a comfortable fit for people of various sizes and boast a wide range of adjustments and well-felt lateral support. An impressively sized central tunnel runs between the seats, where a pair of cup holders, an electronic parking brake button, a gearshift lever and a massive center armrest, which has a spacious box for various small items, are located.
Rear sofa it is profiled for two riders, but it can easily accommodate a third passenger, while none of them will feel constrained.
Trunk volume with a classic layout it is equal to 846 liters, and by folding the backs of the rear sofa (form a flat floor), the user can expect an already impressive 1798 liters. In the underground luggage compartment, there was a place for a spare wheel and the necessary tools, which can also be attributed to the advantages of the car.

The third generation Chevrolet Equinox is based on the proprietary D2XX / D2UX bogie, which the crossover shares with the latest generation Chevrolet Cruze. As a result, the front suspension retained the classic MacPherson struts, and the rear received a multi-link arrangement instead of a twisted beam, which was aggregated by the second generation Equinox.
When creating the new Equinox, the manufacturer decided to abandon the 3.6-liter 301-horsepower V6 gasoline engine, leaving it in the line of power units exclusively four-cylinder engines:
- 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine, squeezing out 170 "horses" and a maximum of 275 Nm of thrust, which allows you to consume an average of about 7.6 liters of fuel for every 100 km of distance traveled.
- A turbocharged gasoline engine with a volume of 2 liters, allowing to obtain a maximum of 252 "mares" and 353 Nm of peak torque. The fuel consumption of such a unit is on average 8.4 l / 100 km.
- Last but not least is a 1.6-liter turbocharged diesel that produces 136 hp. and 320 Nm of torque, as well as consuming in a combined mode about 6 liters of diesel fuel for every hundred.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer decided not to announce such parameters as overclocking from 0 to 100 and maximum speed, considering them as secondary for the end customer.
As standard, the crossover is equipped with front-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive modifications are available as an option, while the buyer has the opportunity to choose between a 6-speed (Hydra-Matic 6T40 and 6T45) and 9-speed (Hydra-Matic 9T50) automatic transmission, however, the latter the option is offered exclusively in tandem with the most powerful gasoline engine.
The steering received a rack and pinion mechanism and supplemented with an electric booster, while the braking system is represented by disc brakes "in a circle" (the front ones are additionally equipped with a ventilation system).

As befits a modern crossover, the new Chevrolet Equinox is equipped with a sufficient number of electronic assistants and security systems, including:

The minimum price for the new Chevrolet Equinox 2018 starts at 23.58 thousand dollars (about 1.37 million rubles), while buyers are offered several equipment options.
