The Americans decided that the original look of the car was an inevitable success. They turned out to be right. From 2011 to 2014, the Ford Fiesta was recognized as the best-selling car in Europe. And no wonder, because with such external data, and they are really good, the car will clearly stand out from the stream, unless, of course, the entire stream consists of the same models.

Of course, from the front, the model is simply gorgeous. Here is aggressiveness, swiftness, accuracy and regularity in one bottle. At first glance, the "muzzle" looks somewhat awkward, somehow flattened in length. But upon close examination, this feeling disappears.

Restyling allowed for a new radiator grille that matches the corporate style and attracts a lot of attention. In addition, this made it possible to make a more prominent and muscular bumper, which, despite its small overall dimensions, makes the new Ford Fiesta visually superior to the class.

The same goes for the almond-shaped floodlights, which are equipped with LED daytime running lights. Undoubtedly, it gives modernity. This relief continues on the bonnet - the spectacular stamping smoothly spreads onto the struts.

The lower part of the bumper also looks pretty good. Here the fog lights fit organically into the overall style, and the skirt is trimmed with black plastic, by the way, especially for Russia.

The profile of the sedan Ford Fiesta is also not deprived of taste. Definitely the designers have it. So, here is a swift front end with elongated headlights that stretch along the entire length of the front fenders. The shoulder line of the glazing is highlighted by a chrome strip, the rest of the edge is black. By tradition, a massive embroidery passes through the door handles, which, by the way, very well at the front expands the dimensions of the model.

But the feed, I must admit, looks a little boring. It seems that the designers did not have enough imagination for anything other than a small copy of the Ford Mondeo lamps. But the rear of the hatchback looks very interesting. Not surprisingly, the ST version is built on it. Visually, the model reaches a higher class, it can even be confused with the Focus, but the B-class issues a nameplate on the trunk lid, as well as a spoiler, which seems to have been removed from the 2012 Aveo.

Interior Ford Fiesta 2015

Here, the designers and engineers managed, as the company representatives themselves say, to combine technology and usability together with comfort. I must admit that here the driver will not feel like in a budget sedan and hatchback. For example, at the same price, the finishing materials are significantly superior to the same Renault Sandero, which will undoubtedly become a rather difficult competitor, but more on that later.

Now the interior of the 2015 Ford Fiesta presents us with an interesting dashboard with a rather futuristic design. Depending on the configuration, the interior can be finished in one or two colors. From the driver's seat, it is easy enough to reach any control, even on the center console. Not to say that it is cramped here, but also not to say that the console is very far away.

It can be equipped with either a niche for small things, or a radio with standard navigation, Bluetooth, as well as a proprietary Ford SYNC interface. It is worth talking about the properties of this OS separately, because its capabilities have greatly expanded over the past 3 years.

First of all, Ford SYNC is able to recognize the simplest voice commands, through which you can even control a smartphone connected via Bluetooth. You can both make calls, receive them, and manage music.

The information is displayed on the display with a diagonal of 5 inches, there may also be readings from a rear-view camera or a navigator. A CD-changer is installed just below, next to which the inscription "SONY" flaunts. The control takes place by means of a joystick, which somehow does not inspire confidence. Control keys are duplicated on the steering wheel.

The rest of the space on the console is given to the climate control unit. In principle, there is nothing special to say, the usual two-zone climate. It is only noteworthy that it is installed in a sedan or B-class hatchback.

The driver's seat is perhaps the most prestigious here. And the point is not that everything can be controlled from here, but that it is from here that you can fully examine the instrument panel, which is very atypical. Although it is dominated by only two wells, which are illuminated with a pleasant white light, a fuel level indicator is installed below, but there is no engine temperature. This is strange.

It is displayed on the on-board computer display, as well as the current gear, instantaneous and average consumption. In addition, an econometer is installed here. It tells the driver the perfect moment to shift up or down.

Another interesting function that raises some doubts about its need, but it is, however, in the options, which pleases. It is called My Key. Its essence lies in the fact that the owner can program each key to certain restrictions, both in speed and in functionality, up to the volume of the audio system. This is necessary if you periodically give your car to relatives or friends.

The back sofa is formally designed for 3 people. However, it is logical that with a wheelbase of 2.5 meters and a width of the entire car of 1.72 meters, a maximum of 2 adults can fit here. But the height of the model, both a hatchback and a sedan, allows quite tall comrades to be accommodated.

Only one engine is available on the Russian market, the volume of which is 1.6 liters. Depending on the firmware, its power can be 85, 105 and 120 horsepower.

The first engine comes as standard, which makes sense. He will need about 6 liters of AI-95 on the highway and 8 liters in the city. In return, he will give 135 Nm, which will accelerate the new Ford Fiesta to a hundred in 12.8 seconds. The maximum speed of this configuration will be 171 km / h on a 5-speed manual.

The second motor produces 105 horses, it's not hard to guess. Its torque has been increased to 148 Nm. Accordingly, the acceleration time dropped to 11.4 seconds, and the top speed increased to 182 km / h. It is noteworthy that according to the manufacturer, fuel consumption remained at the same level as that of the top engine. Well, the 105-horsepower power unit is offered with a 5-speed manual transmission, or with a 6-speed Power Shift robot, which is familiar to owners of past generations of Ford Mondeo and Focus. It has 6 steps with manual switching.

The maximum configuration is supplied with a 120-horsepower engine. All the same naturally aspirated 4 cylinders, all the same distributed injection and DOHC. With such an engine, the new Ford Fiesta will accelerate to a hundred in just 10.7 seconds, and the maximum speed will be about 188 km / h. Again, the consumption remains at the same level. This engine is only available with a robotic gearbox.

Ford Fiesta 2015: price and configuration

On the Russian market, the sedan began to be sold relatively recently, but the hatchback has already won its fans. So, the model has 4 configurations, and the prices for them, I must say, vary very well.Interestingly, the cigarette lighter and ashtray are offered only as an option, even in the maximum version. Probably, the Americans decided to fight smoking in this way.

Ambiente

Here the buyer will have to fork out at least 532 thousand rubles, which is 7100 €. For this money, he will receive ABS, front airbags, electric power steering, height adjustment and reach. The mirrors will be heated and powered, as will the front windows. Security will be provided by central locking and immobilizer. The "Optimal" package is offered as an option (for 35,000). It includes an air conditioner, a radio with USB, AUX, as well as a multifunctional steering wheel. By the way, in the same Sandero, such a configuration will rise to about 650 thousand.

Trend

In fact, this is the same base, only with a 105-horsepower engine, as well as the possibility of buying a robot, which costs 50 thousand more than mechanics. All the equipment that is offered in the database in the above package is available here. The on-board computer is only added to it. But the list of optional equipment has been significantly expanded, for example, for 20,000 you can purchase 15-inch castings.

Options are also offered in packages. One of them is "winter". It includes heated windshield and heated front seats. You will have to pay an extra 15,000 rubles for it.

Then there is "Radio package number 72". It is unclear why it is so unusual, but here is a radio with USB, AUX, Bluetooth, as well as a multi-wheel. Basically, 17k for Bluetooth.

Trend + includes a center armrest for the front row, rear power windows and fog lights. For this you will have to pay an additional 15 thousand rubles. In total, the maximum version in the Trend package will cost the buyer 716 thousand rubles (9500 €).

Trend Plus

ESP is already offered here, all the equipment above in the options is installed by default, except for Bluetooth, it is in the options. They also include a leather steering wheel, climate control, rear parking sensors and standard navigation with voice control. In this configuration, the Ford Fiesta price will be 800 thousand rubles (10 670 €).

Titanium

A 120-horsepower engine is already on offer here. The options only include a keyless entry system, parking sensors, folding mirrors and an engine start button. Everything else is standard equipment, which will include rain and light sensors, an uphill start assist system, as well as airbags for rear passengers. For all this you will have to pay 821 thousand rubles. (10 950 €).

Conclusion

Of course, the 2015 Ford Fiesta will not become a bestseller in our country. There are a lot of reasons for this, from the initial price to the service content. A separate expense item is car parts. It is clear that they are not needed for a new car, but anything can happen, not all breakdowns are recognized as warranty. However, despite this, competitors like Logan, Solaris and Sandero will have to tighten up a little, or endure such fierce competition that the Ford Fiesta can make. The same applies to Aveo, especially since it has not been updated for 3 years.
